Blackchrome’s quality, reliability and quick delivery is a direct result of our close relationship with our exclusive manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka. Exclusivity allows our factory to entirely focus on the needs of our customers, without being disrupted by customers from elsewhere. This is an extremely unique situation that other sports brands cannot offer.

It is the responsibility of any manufacturer to make sure they abide by a lawful, humane and transparent process – regardless of the location of their manufacturing facility.

At Blackchrome we are proud to say we not only abide by all the above, but also hold WRAP, OEKO-TEX, GOTS and Sedex certifications. Read on to discover what these mean and learn about three other certifications in the textiles and apparel industry.

WRAP: Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production

WRAP is an independent, non-profit organisation that promotes safe, lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing. Its Certification Program is the largest independent facility certification program in the world mainly focused on the apparel, footwear, and sewn products sectors. Blackchrome’s manufacturing facility proudly has WRAP accreditation.

OEKO-TEX

OEKO-TEX is a union of institutes in the area of textile and leather ecology. Businesses that are performing responsibly and making sustainable purchasing decisions are given permission to use OEKO-TEX labels. Blackchrome is one of these businesses.

OEKO-TEX’s STANDARD 100 product label, which is held by Blackchrome, is one of the world’s best-known labels for textile products that do not contain harmful substances. When a product carries this label, it means every thread, button and accessory has been tested for harmful substances and is therefore safe from a human-ecological perspective. The label represents customer confidence and high product safety.

GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard

GOTS is a leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, such as cotton, linen, silk, flax, hemp or wool. To obtain GOTS certification, textile products must contain at least 70% organic fibres, and certain social criteria must also be met. Blackchrome’s manufacturing facility is GOTS certified.

Sedex

Sedex is an international organisation that aims to improve the lives of people in global supply chains. It offers tools and services to help businesses manage their performance around labour, health and safety, the environment, ethics and business practices. Blackchrome’s manufacturing facility has Sedex certification.

ISO: International Organization for Standardization

ISO develops International Standards as it is an independent, non-governmental organisation with a membership of national standards bodies in 164 different countries.

  • ISO 9000
The ISO 9000 is a quality management standard for businesses of any size, who want to ensure their products are meeting customer requirements and consistently improving in quality.
  • ISO 14000
